What We Do

I was invited to join POBL to assist them through a restructure of their housing department as the Head of Older Persons Services. The role was exceptionally varied and enabled me to work on a number of projects that I was passionate about.

Firstly I needed to support the Active Ageing and older persons housing team throuogh the resturcture. This was a very challenging time for the team so it was important I provided mentoring, interview skills advice and personal support.

As well as the team support I was asked to put together a proposal for the future of sheltered accommodation. For this I worked with the director of assets and a multitude of other stake holders to put together a later living offer.

The Later Living design took the ideas from private retirement accommodation and adapted them to be delivered by social housing. Working on the community hub model the goal is to provide accommodation that is enticing to the young end of the scale older person scale but also still practical and appropriate for the upper end of the age scale.

I also worked across all Pobl directorates to put together a well being tool to enable all staff to understand how their roles can meet the organisational well being targets and that of the welsh government.

My time at Pobl was fantastic and I can honestly say the staff they have there are second to none. I was a privilege to be a part of it for a short time.
